"Don't just see my legs not running;
Don't just see my hands not working;
Don't just see my mouth not talking;
These broken pieces are not me.
See instead the light in my eyes;
See instead my loving soul;
See instead my thinking mind;
These inner pieces are the real me."

Theodore's Story
In May 2016 this wonderful boy was prematurely born in a small town in South Africa. It was soon learned that he had several conditions that threaten his life, and if he survived past the initial prognosis, his life would be a long hard journey.
First, he was in ICU for several months to help develop his lungs. Then his head started to swell due to hydrocephalus, it was also discovered that he has Marfan syndrome, and severely reversed clubfoot. Casting and surgical attempts to correct his feet proved to be unsuccessful.
As a result of the premature birth and the hydrocephalus, his brain development was severely stunted and he was left mentally disabled. He had undergone surgery to insert a shunt draining the fluid from his brain into his abdomen. This surgery may have to repeated several times in years to come.
He needs full-time care which is primarily undertaken by his mother. Equipment for the disabled is very expensive and hard to come by in South Africa, very little of which is covered by medical insurance.
Currently he is in great need of support for month-to-month consumables, specialised equipment for his care and he will need professional care in the future. As he grows he will need new clothes and other equipment to aid his mother to move him around for showering, dressing, feeding and transportation.
Fortunately, people are becoming aware of Theodore's condition and reaching out to support his parents financially and practically.
With this page we are hoping more people with compassionate hearts and a few funds to spare, will be able to support this boy and his family, either once-off or on a more regular basis.
